"I love walking past the room at lunch time to see 40+ children with their heads down reading silently because they are so engrossed…"

Congratulations!

Through Read for My School in 2014, over 850,000 books were read by over 200,000 pupils in primary and secondary schools up and down the country. We hope that all of you who contributed to this success are as proud as we are!

Good luck to the pupils who have been nominated for regional awards, and good luck to all those pupils and schools who have been automatically entered into our prize draws. This year Pearson are donating 100,000 books in prizes for pupils and schools who participated. In addition more than 100,000 books have been donated to Book Aid International, who alongside many other initiatives deliver new books to children in Tanzania via their School Library in a Box programme.

If you are interested in being part of an even bigger and better Read for My School in 2015, please send us your email address using the form on the right hand side of this page.

What is Read for My School?

Read for My School challenges pupils in primary and secondary schools to read as much as they can during two months in the Spring term. Highlights include:

  • access to a completely free online library of over 100 great books;
  • pupils can win prizes for themselves if they do well;
  • whole schools can win collective prizes if they do well.

Read for My School is brought to you by Pearson and Booktrust with support from the Department for Education.
